Course overview
The 24-week IELTS preparation course is designed to thoroughly prepare students to target an IELTS score of 5.5 and above. The course goes beyond exam technique to target the underlying English skills, exposing students to a wide variety of academic materials. IELTS LOW + IELTS HIGH runs for 26 weeks with a 2-week break between levels. Students requiring entry into courses needing IELTS 6.0+ can continue into EAP 2 after this program. Note: Innovative College does not and cannot guarantee a particular IELTS outcome.
Entry requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years at the time of enrolment
- English language proficiency: IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in each module) or equivalent test accepted by the Department of Home Affairs. View accepted tests →

Exit point & award
CEFR levels — IELTS Low: A2/B1; IELTS High: B1/B1+. Formal assessment in weeks 6 and 12 with weekly reviews; benchmarked against CEFR and IELTS equivalencies.
RPL & Credit Transfer
Fast track your qualification by gaining credit for your existing skills and prior learning. If you have relevant experience or completed units / qualifications, indicate RPL / Credit Transfer in your application.
