Course Information
Mode of Study​

This program is delivered in the classroom, in a simulated work environment, and through structured self-study that includes:

16 hours of scheduled face-to-face training and assessment per week.
-
4 hours of structured self-study, where students are provided with access to resources and materials for completing a range of activities.
-
Additional, unsupervised study is expected to be approximately 5 hours per week.

Course Description
​​
​This is a trade qualification for plumbers in residential, industrial and commercial workplaces who are responsible for assembling, installing and maintaining water services, sanitary plumbing and sanitary drainage, gas, roofing and mechanical services in both existing and new constructions.
​
The plumbing industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered and assessed in this context.

Course Structure
​CPC32420 - Certificate III in Plumbing (General Plumbing) consists of Fifty eight (58) units including forty three (43) core units and fifteen (15) elective units.
​
The 58 units that must be completed include:

15 elective units of which:

8 units must be from Group A outlined in the link below,

4 elective units must be from Group B outlined in the link below, and
-
3 units from Group C outlined in the link below.
Up to 4 elective units may be replaced by units from any other group or from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course. The units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification.

IELTS score 6.0 (with no bands less than 5.5) or equivalent Pearson Test of English (PTE).

have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment.

Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.

have satisfactorily completed HLTAID011 and provided evidence of statement of attainment.
