This program is delivered in the classroom and through structured self-study.

Course Description

This course is targeted at students who are seeking to develop or refresh their skills and knowledge in CPR to further their career prospects or study pathways. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

 

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Course Structure

8 hours for new learners.

6 hours for learners refreshing their skills.

Unit of Competency

The unit HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is included in many qualifications within Training Packages. Therefore, a statement of attainment for these units can be used as credit for a range of qualifications.

Delivery Location/s

All classes are face to face and are held at 4 Marsh Street, CLYDE, NSW, 2142 or 70-72 BAthurst Street, SYDNEY, 2000

Entry Requirements

You must:

· be at least 18 years of age

· participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. Note that the course entry interview process will determine whether you will complete the course in full or as a refresher course

· have sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skill sufficient to complete the course, for example, to read materials relevant to the course, participate in discussions and roleplays and apply numerical concepts such as time management. This will be tested through a LLN assessment as part of the course entry process. You will need to achieve ACSF level 2 for reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication to enter the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfers

Fast track your way to a formal qualification by earning credit for what you already know. If you believe you have related skills or have relevant units/qualifications obtained in previous successful studies, please indicate on your Application Form that you wish to apply for RPL/Credit.

Innovative College recognises qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
